Travel the World Without Leaving Your House: AR/VR Technology

 

Hello again everyone!!! I am back with another post this week. In our technology course we learned about AR and VR technologies. Our teacher gave us a task related to the topic as usual. In this task we were supposed to create a material that is supported by Augmented Reality. I teamed up with Emircan Arslan, Mihriban Çizme and Rabia Çimen to create the material.  Let's talk about AR/VR technologies and our material's making process.

What is AR/VR? 

Augmented reality is a technology that enhances real world experience with computer generated elements. Virtual reality on the other hand, takes you to a totally computer created world. 

Design Process 

We had two options: An AR based material that focuses on a global problem or landmarks of a city. We chose the latter because we wanted to focus on teaching different cultural values. We chose Paris because it is the biggest tourist attraction in the world so it has a lot of landmarks. We used Canva because it has a lot of images and templates we can use. It is very easy to use and we have used many times before so it was the most convenient program for us. Also we found the AR videos on YouTube. We worked at the same time during the whole process and thanks to my friends it was easier than I thought it would be:) Writing the Assure plan was also easy because this is our third time doing it. My Thoughts

It was a really fun process overall. I will definitely use AR technologies more for myself and for my students! Do you know any fun AR videos that I can watch. Please let me know. See you until next time!
