My View of Technology
This course showed me that young people, digital natives, know how to use technology but do not know how to benefit from it. I was also one of these people. Before this course, I have only used technology as a means of entertainment. I played games, went into music production, watched videos but I have never done anything related to education. In this course we learned how to benefit from technology as a facilitator in Education. I have learned many things that I am eager to include in my future classes. In short, this course made me obtain a wider understanding of technology.
Technology Integration in ELT
As i have stated, it has altered my perception of technology. It also changed my perception of English Language Teaching. When I think of ELT, I immediately think of in-classroom activities but there are also lots of activities that can be done outside the classroom. With integrating technology to ELT, you can easily do both at the same time. For example, collaborative writing can be both applied inside and outside the classroom. Moreover, we both worked as individuals in some activities such as preparing an infographic and in pairs or in groups in others such as preparing a podcast. These processes helped me take responsibility when needed in group tasks and helped me to get things done by myself when it is an individual task.
My Favorite Task
My favorite task was digital storytelling. Since it includes many elements, it was the most enjoyable one in my opinion. Especially, seeing the result in the end was worth it:)
Further Suggestions
Overall, i liked the course. My only suggestion is that maybe it would be better to include in-classroom activities prior to the actual task. In this way, students can have less problems during the task.
