Podcasting
Hello again, how are you? I hope you are doing alright! This week, in our class we were supposed to make a podcast. We were given 3 options and we chose to make a short story with sound effects in it. We made it with Emircan Arslan and we had a great time.
The Plot
It is about a clown who murders people and a cat ( not an ordinary cat). The story might sound a bit brutal initially but we tried to make it as fun as possible.
How did we design it?
At first we had to choose 5 words from the words our teacher determined beforehand. We chose the words: clown, joke, murder, birthday party and cat. We also used the word " hammer" as an extra. After choosing the words we didn't have a hard time writing the script. It took almost no time for us. We used vocaroo.com to record our voice. We have tried some other websites but this site gave us the best result in terms of the quality of the sound. After recording we needed to add at least 10 sound effects in our podcast. To get this done, we have used capcut. We highly recommend this program if you are going to create a podcast yourself! It is actually a program for video editors but it has a built-in sound library. It is very useful! On top of that, most of them are free, so they are very accessible.
My Thoughts on Podcasting
It is actually a very fun way of learning in both sides: creating and also consuming. We had a lot of fun while creating it and in my opinion this kind of podcasts can be very useful especially for young learners. Moreover, the presence of sound effects make the learning process even more fun! I will definitely include podcasts in my lessons in the future.
